When the regional press talks about tattooing

La Provence article highlighting an Art Nouveau tattoo inspired by Mucha done in Avignon

Hello everyone!

One day, I received a message from a journalist from La Provence who had spotted Camille’s back on Instagram, my first large project in color Art Nouveau. He was preparing an article about gift ideas for the end of the year for the Vaucluse edition and wanted to incorporate this tattoo into his selection.

It wasn’t an interview or a portrait of me; it was simply an editorial selection of local projects and ideas. And that’s exactly what I found enjoyable: seeing a tattoo appear naturally among other creative proposals, without needing to treat it as something separate.

The project they had spotted

It was Camille’s back, a large color project inspired by the world of Alphonse Mucha and Art Nouveau. It was also my first full-color back, so it was obviously an important piece in my career.

I had drawn it before I even knew who was going to wear it, then Camille wrote to me after seeing it in a story. A week later, we started. I told the whole story in my article on my first full-color back.

See the tattoo coming out of the middle of the tattoo

What I found interesting was mainly that. The tattoo didn’t appear only in a specialized magazine or on Instagram, but in a regional daily newspaper, in a culture and lifestyle section.

It may seem quite normal today, but I still find it interesting to see how much the place of tattooing has changed. It is now completely part of fashion, design, image, and visual culture in general.

Another small milestone in my career

This publication came before other things that followed afterwards: Ici Vaucluse, Tatouage Magazine, the Guide des Tatoueurs 2026, and then my award in color tattooing at the Convention of Avignon in 2025.

I don't build my work around these acknowledgements, but I am obviously very happy to keep them somewhere. And ultimately, this blog is also there for that: to keep a record of the projects and moments that mattered.
