I've wanted to discover Hôtel Amour Paris for a while. Not only because it's often seen on Instagram, but especially because I already know the one in Nice.
I've been there twice and, so far, it's my favourite hotel.
So when Greg (my darling) and I went up to Paris, we decided we'd finally try out the Parisian address. We only came for dinner, so I can't speak about the rooms. However, I can tell you about that evening and give you my opinion on the restaurant.
You immediately recognise the world of Hôtel Amour
As soon as you arrive in front of the hotel, you recognise it straight away. The pink sign, the pink walls, the blue everywhere... I really like this combination of colours. It might be kitsch, but frankly, it works.
That's precisely what I like most about Amour. No matter the city, you find the same identity, without feeling like you're in a copy of the first hotel.
As a web designer, I always pay attention to these kinds of details. I look at the colours, the typography, the way a place is designed. With them, everything is coherent. Even before you go in, you already know where you are.
Inside, I found again that atmosphere I already loved in Nice. There's colour, plants, objects everywhere. You want to look up, to take in the details. Personally, this is the kind of place where I could stay for a long time without looking at my phone.

My opinion on the Hôtel Amour Paris restaurant
We were there for dinner. I had the croquettes that you see in the photos, as well as other small sharing plates.
It was good.

However, I came away with a slight disappointment.
I found the restaurant quite expensive for what we ate. It's not that the dishes were bad, far from it, but I was expecting a bit more.
Same here for the service.
Nothing unpleasant, but it lacked a little something. When you pay this price, you naturally expect to be a bit more pampered.
If a friend asked my opinion before going, I'd simply tell them to look at the menu before booking. That way, there are no surprises.
Why I always prefer the Hôtel Amour Nice
Even though I enjoyed discovering the one in Paris, I still prefer Nice.
Firstly because I know it a bit better, I've been twice, I've slept there and I've really had the time to enjoy it.
But above all, I find the atmosphere is different. In Nice, there's the rooftop, the beach right next door, and much more space. When you walk through the door, I really feel like I've arrived at a holiday home.
It's difficult to explain, but you immediately feel it's relaxed.

In Paris, the space is smaller. You find the same codes, the same identity, but I didn't feel that sensation that I love so much in Nice.
I was also expecting to be able to see the lobby with the goodies! (I love the Hotel Amour goodies!). But the restaurant entrance was really separate from the hotel, whereas in Nice you have to go into the lobby first to get to the restaurant.
And I must admit, I found we ate better there. But as always, that's just my personal opinion!
Would I return to the Hôtel Amour Paris?
Serious!
Firstly because I would like to see the rooms, and I am curious to discover the rest of the hotel.
Then, despite my reservations about the restaurant, I find the place is worth a visit. If only for its decor and identity, it's a venue I'd been wanting to see for a long time.
I absolutely don't regret going there, on the other hand, if today I had to choose between the two, I would still book Hôtel Amour Nice without hesitation.
My opinion
If you're looking for a restaurant in Pigalle with a real identity, Hôtel Amour Paris is worth a visit. On the other hand, I'd advise you to take a look at the menu before booking. And if you're hesitating between the Hôtel Amour in Paris or the one in Nice, my heart clearly goes to Nice.
Yes. That's what I did. We just came for dinner.
I found the prices quite high for what we ate. This is something to consider before booking.
I have a preference for the one in Nice. I like its atmosphere, its rooftop, its proximity to the beach, and I find that the food is better there.
