Tattooing in Chaudes-Aigues: my weekends in the Cantal

Hello everyone!

I keep this article because it corresponds to a rather particular period of my life: the one when I started getting regular tattoos again. Chaudes-Aigues, In the Cantal, after having lived there for almost two years.

Originally, I had published this page simply to announce my May and June dates. Of course, those dates have now passed, so rather than leave an old dating announcement hanging on the blog, I wanted to keep what was really behind it: my connection to Chaudes-Aigues and those weekends when I returned to work there.

Chaudes-Aigues was for a long time my second home

My father settled there a few years ago and I myself lived there for almost two years. It’s a very small town in the heart of the Cantal region, far from the pace of life in Avignon or Paris, and that’s exactly what I liked about it when I returned there for a few days.

I could pack my things, work, meet people I knew, and have days that weren’t at all the same pace as in the city. Appointments were often longer, and so were the discussions; getting a tattoo on a Sunday in the middle of the Cantal was quite pleasant.

The projects were very different

I wasn’t just coming for the big Art Nouveau projects or the full body tattoos. There were also small tattoos, black and grey designs, color work, flashes of light, and sometimes people just came by to discuss an idea with me.

That’s one thing I always like about tattooing: a small piece can be just as enjoyable to create as a forty-hour project. The relationship to the drawing is simply different.

Why I no longer keep the old dates online

When I created this article, it contained four specific dates in May and June and already announced the following ones. A few months later, of course, it no longer holds any interest for someone who comes here from Google or Pinterest.

Therefore, I prefer to keep the memory of that period rather than making you believe that it’s still an actual schedule. My venues and availability may change; when there are new dates or confirmed guest spots, I announce them the moment they actually exist.

A period that I'm happy to keep on the blog

I talk a lot about Paris and London today, but Chaudes-Aigues is also part of my journey. I lived there, I worked there, I tattooed regulars as well as passers-by, and I have a lot of memories related to tattooing there.

That’s exactly why I prefer to turn this old article from dates into a small personal archive rather than deleting it completely.
