Hello everyone! I realised there were pieces of my story scattered all over this blog, but nowhere I properly introduced myself without trying to squeeze everything into one neat box. You may have found me through a London address, a beauty post, tattooing, design, a restaurant or Minuit d\u2019Orsay, so it felt like time for a proper introduction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My name is Tamara Chaudesaigues<\/strong> and today my work moves between web design, art direction, imagery and tattooing. Written down, it sounds like a lot. In reality, it all connects far more naturally than you might think.<\/p>\n\n\n\n My relationship with images began long before I knew what design really meant. I come from a family of tattoo artists, where drawing, creativity and visual references were always part of everyday life. My father, St\u00e9phane Chaudesaigues<\/strong>, belongs to a generation that helped establish professional tattooing in France. I grew up surrounded by artists, drawings, machines, books and conversations about composition, colour and placement. Inevitably, some of it stayed with me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There is also something quite obvious about my first name: Tamara, in reference to Tamara de Lempicka<\/strong>. So Art Deco did not exactly arrive in my life by accident. I have always been drawn to Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Mucha, Lempicka, Dal\u00ed and Caravaggio, as well as strong lines, ornament, silhouettes and carefully constructed compositions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is important to say this, because my taste for design, images, fine books, typography or visual identities did not appear all of a sudden with web design. It comes from much further back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I then studied design at Ynov, in Aix-en-Provence<\/strong>. It gave me the language, methods and tools for things I already loved instinctively: composition, imagery, typography, visual communication and building a coherent visual world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Although tattooing later became the main focus of my professional life, that design foundation never disappeared. Looking back, it explains why returning to web design and art direction felt so natural.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Tattooing has taken up a huge part of my professional life, and it will always remain part of me in one way or another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I came to it with that family heritage and a strong sensitivity to Art Nouveau and Art Deco. My projects naturally drew on references such as Fly<\/a>, Tamara de Lempicka<\/a>, Dal\u00ed and Caravaggio, alongside colour, ornament and highly illustrated compositions. If you would like to see this side of my work properly, you will find it in my tattoo portfolio<\/a> and in my article on my way of working with Art Nouveau in tattooing<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I have been lucky enough to work on wonderful projects and meet people including Nikko Hurtado, Shane O\u2019Neill, Joe Capobianco and Jeff Gogue through tattooing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Jeff Gogue is a huge inspiration to me: I recognise in his work a sensitivity to colour, Art Nouveau and Japanese influences that really speaks to me. I have also written about the Jeff Gogue seminar at Graphicaderme<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I have also had a few press features and media appearances. I like keeping them here because each one tells a different part of my story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I had a page in Tatouage Magazine<\/em>, in the 2026 Tattoo Artists Guide<\/a>, then an article in Provence<\/em><\/a> about my work. I also had the chance to speak about my background, my family and tattooing on Here Vaucluse<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I also received an award for a colour piece at the Avignon Tattoo Convention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is a memory I remain very attached to because it truly represented my work at that point in my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This profession taught me an enormous amount: how to listen, understand what somebody really wants, propose the right idea, defend a choice when it works and rethink it when needed \u2014 all while creating for someone else without losing my own perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I recognise all of that in web design now, far more than I could have imagined at the beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Alongside tattooing, I have always loved everything surrounding a project: photography, communication, visual direction, layouts, social media, printed materials and the way the work is presented. I could spend as long thinking about the image around a project as the project itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Web design did not arrive as a dramatic change of direction. It was simply a part of me that kept taking up more room until I thought: perhaps I should stop treating this as the thing I do on the side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Gradually, I wanted to work more on websites, identities, imagery and typography for hotels, restaurants, fashion and beauty brands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I began spending much more time in Figma, Webflow, WordPress, Elementor and Illustrator, studying studios, collecting references, testing ideas, beginning again and continuing to learn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Most importantly, I realised this was where I wanted to take the next stage of my professional life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n That does not mean tattooing is disappearing. I remain deeply attached to that world and want the freedom to accept the projects I genuinely connect with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Today, I also want to be recognised for my work as a web designer and art director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n That's how Minuit d\u2019Orsay<\/a> took shape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I wanted a space that brought together everything I genuinely love: websites, visual identities, art direction, photography, printed matter and the graphic details that give a brand or place a presence people remember.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I am naturally drawn to independent hotels, restaurants, fashion, beauty, photography and cultural spaces. Honestly, that feels much more like me than choosing one perfectly neat category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I want this blog to remain personal. London, though, is becoming a much bigger part of the story \u2014 and you have probably already noticed that in my recent posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I love the city for completely different reasons: Soho after dark, bars hidden behind doors you could easily miss, record shops, pubs, caf\u00e9s, hotels and music \u2014 then Hampstead whenever I want something quieter. I simply feel good there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I am less interested in showing you postcard London than the city I discover piece by piece: SOMA Soho<\/a>, my favourite breakfast places in Shoreditch, including Ozone<\/a>, Hampstead, the London restaurants I genuinely enjoy<\/a>, the caf\u00e9s I return to and all the new addresses still to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Right now, I want to grow Minuit d\u2019Orsay, establish my work as a web designer and art director, and keep building this blog with the same freedom. London is central to that next chapter: both as a city I want to document honestly and as a creative market where I want to develop lasting relationships and projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The tattoo is still there too. It's part of my work, my family history and my outlook, and I have no desire to make it a closed chapter. I want to keep the freedom to accept projects that speak to me, and I'm not closing the door at all to the idea of tattooing in London as well if great opportunities arise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is 2026 \u2014 why should any of us limit ourselves to one thing? Life is far too short not to pursue the work that genuinely excites us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you\u2019ve just arrived here, I\u2019ll save you twenty minutes of random searching.
