I have known Caf\u00e9 Berry since the day it opened, almost ten years ago now. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My older sister Shirley had just opened the caf\u00e9 at 10 rue Chapon in the Marais, and I have watched it evolve every time I have returned to Paris. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The d\u00e9cor has changed, as has the menu, the dishes have become even more beautiful, and the entire image of Caf\u00e9 Berry has truly come into its own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Obviously, it's my sister's cafe, so I might seem a bit biased to you. But honestly, it's not just because it's her that I say the food there is (too) good. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For me, Berry remains one of the best brunches in the Marais.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Go and see for yourself and you will see that EVERYTHING is good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ten years of Caf\u00e9 Berry<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Looking back at the beginning, I realise just how much the caf\u00e9 has changed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I used to visit Paris occasionally to see my sister, so I sometimes discovered the changes months \u2014 or even years \u2014 later: a new menu, new interiors, new dishes and a stronger identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the years, Shirley has continually developed the caf\u00e9. Since Jey joined her, they have taken the project even further together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caf\u00e9 Berry has never been stuck in its first version, and that's a good thing!<\/p>\n\n\n

\"Coffee<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The logo, the colours, the merch, the decor, the details in the coffee shop... everything has become stronger and more cohesive. Without overdoing it either. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It remains a caf\u00e9 where people come to eat, chat, sit on the terrace and share a meal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So naturally, I love it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What's on the menu at Caf\u00e9 Berry?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Right, we're going to get down to business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we last went with Greg, we had the bacon and egg muffin, the Turkish eggs, the grilled cheese and the granola. Yes, yes, all of that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am a Libra, so I hesitate over absolutely everything. At some point, life becomes easier if you simply order it all and take the leftovers home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or not. We've finished everything. And it even seems to me that Greg had a little strawberry tart, just to finish things off nicely!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bacon and egg muffin is the kind of dish I love for brunch. It's hearty, indulgent, a bit sweet and savoury, and you don't need to order anything else afterwards, (in theory).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Turkish<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The Turkish eggs were also far too good. The eggs, the tomatoes, the herbs, the well-spiced sauce\u2026 everything went wonderfully together. It\u2019s the dish I\u2019d have when I fancy something a bit fresher, but still really satisfying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The grilled cheese is equally simple on paper and genuinely well made. It is the kind of dish you plan to taste once before somehow eating the whole thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then there is the granola\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Honestly, it is the best granola I have ever had.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You need to try it immediately. The yoghurt, fruit and granola are perfectly balanced \u2014 neither too dry nor too sweet. I never imagined I would discuss granola this seriously, but it is so often treated as the forgettable option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everything looks as good as it tastes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

What I like about Caf\u00e9 Berry is that everything looks appetising as soon as the plates arrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plates are colourful, generous and beautifully presented, but the appeal does not stop with the photograph. The food delivers too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We all know those Parisian brunches where you're mainly paying for a pretty plate for Instagram. It looks very nice, but you come away still hungry and a bit on edge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That does not happen at Caf\u00e9 Berry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The portions are generous, the dishes are properly considered and the prices make sense for what comes out of the kitchen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And I much prefer paying a bit more knowing that it's well worth it, rather than paying almost the same for three bits of avocado placed on toast where soon you'll have to make your own slice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I like to start my days with a workout before treating myself to a proper breakfast. I'm actually going to tell you why incline power walking has become my favourite cardio<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

How Shirley and Jey have developed Caf\u00e9 Berry<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Since Shirley has been with Jey, they've really moved Caf\u00e9 Berry forward together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can see it in the menu and the entire image of the caf\u00e9. The logo has changed, the merchandise has become part of the identity, the colours are stronger and every detail feels more intentional. That is natural \u2014 all good projects evolve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I particularly like the fact that the merch really looks like the coffee. The pieces work with the universe, and you can wear them without feeling like you're advertising a brunch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They have developed the caf\u00e9 without making it too polished. It remains lively: people talk, the kitchen moves and there is always something happening behind the counter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The little terrace<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I love the little terrace right next door. It's lovely in summer, of course, but also the rest of the year. This is Paris; as soon as there's a ray of sunshine, everyone goes outside. Even in coats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It's not huge, so it can get busy quickly, especially at the weekend. But when you manage to get a table outside, it's really pleasant. You can enjoy the neighbourhood, eat well, and watch the people go by. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It feels easy and relaxed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When is the best time to visit Caf\u00e9 Berry?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Weekends can get busy quickly. I'd advise you to come quite early.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the week, it might be a tad quieter (though not guaranteed), so we can take a bit more time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expect to queue for your dishes, and yes! Further proof that it's really worth it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The menu can vary, so the best thing to do is look at the dishes of the moment before coming. But honestly, everything looks tempting. My advice remains the same: if you are hesitating, you get everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Worst case, you take the rest home. Best case, like us, you finish everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A second Caf\u00e9 Berry on rue Chapon <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Shirley and Jey are preparing to open a second Caf\u00e9 Berry on rue Chapon. I cannot reveal anything else yet because the rest needs to remain a surprise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After ten years of watching the first coffee shop evolve, it's great to see them launch a second location together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I'm keeping the info for later, but knowing my sister, it's going to be ace!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My honest Caf\u00e9 Berry review<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I've known Berry at 10 rue Chapon since day one, and I saw the first decor, the first menus, and then everything that changed afterwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EVERYTHING is good. The plates are generous, beautiful and properly made, the terrace is lovely, the prices feel fair and the caf\u00e9\u2019s visual identity has evolved enormously over the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The granola is almost worth the trip on its own. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I promise, you will not be disappointed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes. The menu works for breakfast, lunch and brunch.<\/p> <\/div>

Yes. A small terrace is located right next to the cafe.<\/p> <\/div>

Prices are in line with brunch in the Marais, and the portions are generous.
