Adorning the body

Dos tatoué en couleur sur illustration originale inspirée d'Édouard Bisson et de l'Art Nouveau, par Tamara Chaudesaigues à Avignon

Some projects come from a simple desire — to enhance, to adorn, to define curves without constraining them. This colour back tattoo, in the universe of Art Nouveau in Avignon, was born from exactly that. No rigidity, no absolute black. Just colour, softness, and a composition that adapts to the woman who wears it. Bisson's […]

Between Tradition and Evolution: Finding My Own Direction

Tamara Chaudesaigues learning tattooing in the Chaudesaigues family studio

A Framework Before a Direction Tattooing has been part of my world since birth. Graphicaderme has existed in Avignon since 1987, and I grew up within that environment without questioning whether I would eventually step into it myself. Machines running, conventions throughout the year, technical conversations and historical references formed the background long before I […]

What style will never say for you.

Black and white portrait of Dita Von Teese wearing a top hat and structured white jacket, embodying Art Deco glamour

The body as a cultural surface

Art Nouveau tattoo portrait on the thigh featuring flowing ornamental lines and soft colour work, tattooed by Tamara Chaudesaigues, tattoo artist based in Avignon and working between France and London.

The body is never neutral. It carries signals, codes and history before any explanation. A surface that speaks — and that culture has always used as a space for meaning.

When art steps outside museums

Art Nouveau feminine portrait drawing with green ornamental curves created by London-based tattoo artist Tamara Chaudesaigues

When art steps outside museums, it loses its frame and its protection. It has to exist without being justified. Either it holds, or it does not.

The archetypes that shaped me

The figures that shaped me don't fit into a single style. Oasis, The Clash, Marilyn Manson, my father — what they share is presence. A way of holding their ground without making themselves acceptable.

My work featured in La Provence

Art Nouveau tattoo inspired by Mucha, featured in La Provence

La Provence selected one of my Art Nouveau colour back tattoos inspired by Alphonse Mucha for an end-of-year gift ideas article. A concrete recognition of the work at Graphicaderme in Avignon.

Tamara, a name that stepped out of the ordinary

Portrait of Tamara de Lempicka, Art Deco painter, photographed in the early 20th century.

My name comes from Tamara de Lempicka. My parents loves Art Deco, the Victorian era — My fateher built an entire world around it. That taste stayed with me without me realising. Until I understood it was never a coincidence.
